Dead Sea
Dead Sea also called the Salt Sea, is a salt lake bordering Jordan to the east and Israel and the West Bank to the west. The Dead Sea's climate offers year-round sunny skies and dry air. The Dead Sea is 67 kilometres long, 18 kilometres wide and 377 metres deep which makes it the deepest hypersaline lake in the world. Because of this hyper salinity there isn't any life in the sea but there is a rich nature reserve around the sea. The sea lies in the Jordan Rift Valley, and its main tributary is the Jordan River. Dead Sea is a famous tourist place where many visitors come to enjoy the natural beauties of the sea. The Dead Sea area has become a major center for health research and treatment. Most hotels around the sea are located in the area of Ein Bokek. Kalia and Ein Gedi are the two most famous kibbutz guesthouses on the way to the Dead Sea hotels.
