Rovinj is a city in Croatia situated on the western coast of the Istrian peninsula of the north Adriatic Sea.It has a population around 15 000 and it is a popular tourist resort and an active fishing port. Rovinj is one of nine towns in Istrian County with the Mediterranean climate. The average temperatures are about 5°C in January and 23°C in July. Rovinj Archipelago includes 22 islets.The city dates beyofe the Romans and there are still remainings of the town walls. Between the two world wars Rovinj belonged to the Italy before it was ceded to SR Croatia after the World War two. Most of the people living in Rovinj are Croats. Ethnic minorities include Italians, Serbs, Albanians, Bosniaks. Accommodation ranges from private rooms, apartments, bungalows, camping sites and hotels. The city's first and only 5-star boutique hotel is Hotel Monte Mulini. In the center of the city is the street Carerra. The street is lined with shops, boutiques and bars. In the summer Rovinj is full of tourists and hosts Grisia a popular open air art fair and Rovinj Night a popular open air Summer celebration.
