Graz

Graz is the second-largest city in Austria and has a population little less than 300,000 inhabitants. The city is situated on the Mur river, in the southeast of Austria and has influence by the Mediterranean climate. Garz has six universities and for that is known as a student city. City's famoust landmarks and sites are mostly located it the Old town. Such landmarks are the Rathaus - Town Hall, Schloßberg is the site of demolished fortress, Uhrturm clocktower, Neue Galerie - Museum of art, the Landhaus, the Landeszeughaus, Dom - cathedra, Mausoleum of Emperor Ferdinand II, Burg - castle complex, Gemaltes Haus - painted house, Kunsthaus - museum of modern art, Murinsel - an artificial island in the Mur. Outside the Old Town there are the Schloss Eggenberg - a Baroque palace, Basilika Mariatrost a late Baroque church, the largest church in Graz called the Herz Jesu Kirche, the LKH-Universitätsklinikum - the biggest hospital of Graz. Graz also has many significat museums like Schloss Eggenberg (Graz) with Alte Galerie, Museum im Palais museum of Styrian cultural history, Neue Galerie visual arts, Natural History Museum, Stadtmuseum Graz city museum, Forum Stadtpark museum of contemporary art, Camera Austria museum of contemporary photography, Volkskundemuseum museum of folk culture and lore, Diözesanmuseum museum of the Roman Catholic Church, Künstlerhaus exhibition hall of contemporary visual arts, Literaturhaus museum of contemporary German literature, Museum der Wahrnehmung museum of the senses, samadhi bath, Kindermuseum Frida&Fred museum for children, Kriminalmuseum museum of criminology, Luftfahrtmuseum (Graz airport) aviation museum, Hanns Schell Collection key and lock museum. Graz offers many tourist attractions and for that the number of visitors is growing every year.
