Berlin

Berlin is the capital and the largest city of Germany with a population around 3.4 million. It is located in eastern Germany. Around one third of the city's territory is composed of forests, parks, gardens, rivers and lakes. Berlin is a world city of culture, media, science and politics. The city has a humid continental climate with summer temperatures between 15 °C and 24 °C. Winters are cold with with temperatures between 4 °C and -2 °C. Berlin was separated with a wall after the World War II. East Berlin was under the SSSR, the west part of the city was under the Allied forces which included USA, UK, France, and etc. The wall was destroyed in 1989. There are building which has infuence from west capitals, east comunism and HItlers Nazy Germany. The city has many landmarks and buildings like The Fernsehturm (TV tower) at Alexanderplatz in Mitte, the Brandenburg Gate, the Gendarmenmarkt, a neoclassical square. The Reichstag building is the traditional seat of the German Parliament. The Konzerthaus (Concert Hall) is home of the Berlin Symphony Orchestra. The Berlin Cathedral is a Protestant cathedral and many old and modern buildong and landmarks. Berlin is the city that never sleeps with tens of millions visit by the tourists pre year. City has more than 700 hotels, many restaurants, nightclubs and cafes. Berlin is the host of many music and film festivals. The Berlinale is the largest publicly attended film festival worldwide.Berlin is home to more than 50 theaters, three major opera houses and seven symphony orchestras. The most famous theater is the Deutsches Theater in Mitte. Opera houses are the Deutsche Oper, the Komische Oper and the Berlin State Opera which is the oldest.
