Brasov
Brasov is a city in Romania located in the central part of the country. It is surrounded by the Southern Carpathians and is part of the Transylvania region. The city is famous for being the birthplace of the national anthem of Romania and for hosting the Golden Stag International Music Festival. The city population is around 280.000 people. It's ethnic composition includes Romanians, Hungarians, Ethnic Germans, Romani people. Temperatures from May to September fluctuate around 23°C. Poiana Brasov is the most popular Romanian ski resort and an important tourist center for winter sports and other activities. Biserica Neagră "The Black Church" is a celebrated Gothic site that dated from 1477, Biserica Sf. Nicolae (St. Nicholas Church), dating back to the 14th century. The Rope Street is the narrowest street in Romania. The First Romanian School is a museum with the first printing press in Romania. The Orthodox church of the Dormition of the Theotokos which was built in 1896. Bran Castle attracts many fans of Dracula. Catherine's Gate is the only original city gate to have survived from medieval times.Next to Catherine's Gate is Şchei Gate built in 1827. The Brasov Citadel Fortress is also very visited tourist attraction.
