Eilat

Eliat is city, a busy port and a popular resort in southern Israel located at the northern tip of the Red Sea, on the Gulf of Eilat (or the Gulf of Aqaba). The city has a population of around 46,000 inhabitants. Eliat is adjacent to the Egyptian village of Taba to the south and the Jordanian port city of Aqaba to the east. The city has a desert climate with hot, dry summers and warm and almost rainless winters. Eliat has an airport located in the center of the city and it is used for domestic flights. Some 50 km northwest of the city is Ovda International Airport used for international flights. The city's beaches, nightlife and desert landscapes make it a popular destination for domestic and international tourists. Eilat offers a wide range of attractions like birdwatching, camel tours, freefall parachuting, skin and scuba diving. The city has several attractions such as the Coral Beach Nature Reserve which is an underwater marine reserve of tropical marine flora and fauna, Coral World Underwater Observatory, Dolphin Reef, Hai-Bar Yotvata Nature Reserve, "What's Up" the Observatory, IMAX theatre - three dimensional graphics films, Kings City - a biblical theme park located in the hotel area next to the Stella Maris Lagoon, Timna Valley Park, Ice Park - park of ice and snow and Marina with more than 250 yacht berths.
