Prague

Prague is the capital and largest city of the Czech Republic with population more than 1.3 million people. Prague is a political, cultural and economic center of Europe and it is the most popular tourist destination. The city has borderline oceanic climate with warm summers and relatively cold winters. Prague has many famous landmarks and sites like Prague Castle with St. Vitus cathedral which is the largest castle in the world, Old Town with its Old Town Square, the Astronomical Clock located in old town square, The vaulted Gothic Old New Synagogue built in 1270, New Town with its busy and historic Wenceslas Square, Malá Strana with its Infant Jesus of Prague, Josefov (the old Jewish quarter) with Old Jewish Cemetery and Old New Synagogue, the Lennon Wall, Vinohrady is a sightly quarter in the centre, Museum of Decorative Arts, Museum of the Capital City of Prague, Jewish Museum, African-Prague Museum, Náprstek Museum, Josef Sudek Gallery, National Library, National Gallery the museum of the Heydrich assassination in the crypt of the Church of Saints Cyril and Methodius, National Museum, the Mucha Museum, National Theatre, Estates Theatre, the Rudolfinum is a home to the Czech Philharmonic Orchestra and the Municipal House which is home to Prague Symphony Orchestra, the Smetana Theatre, Vyšehrad Castle & Cemetery where many famous Czechs are buried including the composers Antonín Dvořák & Bedřich Smetana, Petřínská rozhledna is an observation tower on Petřín Hill, which resembles the Eiffel Tower, the Prague Zoo which was selected as the 7th best zoo in the world by Forbes magazine and hundreds of concert halls, galleries, cinemas and music clubs. Prague hosts Music Festivals including the Prague Spring International Music Festival, the Prague Autumn International Music Festival and the Prague International Organ Festival. Several famous movies were filmed in Prague like Mission Impossible, Blade II and xXx. Prague is a metropolitan city.
